Default Staggered Tires

I have a 95 SC400 with 225/55/16 michelins mounted on 7x16 factory chrome rims. I'd like to run 245/50/16's in the rear. I understand from another member who's run even bigger tires than those, that he didn't have to do any modifications to the body to accommodate them. I wonder if I ran staggered tires, would the performance or handlying of the car suffer?

Thanks,
mserrano

are u plaing on runing the 245/50's on the stock rims?

i think the stock rims are too narrow for the 225/55's that come with the car they tend to fold in when cornering hard. so id be carful when runing anything bigger than whats supposed to be on there.
