Default Tanabe Coilovers

I'm in need of some struts and have been looking into coilovers. Checking out TMEngineering.net, I saw some Tanabe coilovers on there. They were the Sustec Pro S-S Coilovers. The type I with the helper springs are around $1150, while the type II are about $1000. Now, I searched the SC forum and saw nothing about Tanabe Coilovers. Has anyone messed with them? Also, it said the helper springs make the ride a little better, but are they really worth the extra $150? What role do they play?

I know you get what you pay for, but dropping $1000 on anything for me is a lot, so I'm sure I'd be happy.

Thanks if anyone can help me at all.
