I rebuilt my 32k MKIV TT brakes myself for 20 bucks. It was nearly impossible to tell the old piston seals from the new ones... the old ones still had the factory paint marks on the rings.

a more cost effective solution is the 4 piston ls400 setup, pads and calipers 250 shipped.

Thats true that the calipers are cheaper, and four piston. However, they arent going to be any where near as good as the Supra four pistons since the actual area of the pads as so much smaller

I remember a couple months ago, somebody had posted a site that sells remanufactured TT calipers? Anyone still have the link? I tried a search for refurbished and/or remanufactured Supra calipers, but nada.

I have been searching to try and find the numbers, but i cant find matching numbers. Found lots of info, but cant seem to find the same specs for both calipers. Not trying to knock the pick-up truck calipers, just saying that theres more to be had with the supra 4pots

yup your right, a more older design, and they cost more used.

Older design? I was under the impression that the design of the LS400/HiLux calipers was first seen in production around 1989. Granted they came out in a non-vented design, but they were changed around ?94?

they only came in 4 piston after 95. The supra rotors are a tad bit bigger than the ls400 so the supra brakes may be a tad bit better. I know the braking distance is posted for these somewhere but i don't recall where i last saw them.

OEM 95-00 LS400 Brake Upgrade
caliper 4 piston 9 lbs.
rotor 12.4 inch ~ lbs.
rotor thickness 1.26 inch

OEM 93-98 Supra Turbo Brake Upgrade
caliper 4 piston 15 lbs.
rotor 12.72 inch 20 lbs.
rotor thickness 1.26 inch
