Don't know the guy, but it's a deal.. I already have LSD diff, and I don't see how anyone can have their SC without it.

Is this a DIY project or is there a lot to setting up the gears?

I was about to tell this guy I'm gonna buy it (since I'm local and can pick it up as well as pay a little extra) but I realised it's out of a 6-spd.
Us SC guys need the one out of the automatic.
The 6-spd has a way different final gear ratio which would throw off our speedometers as well as alter the RPM at which we cruise freeway.

Anyone wanna prove me wrong? Please.

Now that I've done a search, my worries have been confirmed.
The final gear on our SC300s is 4.08
The 6spd supra lsd is something like 3.37
That would make a difference of about 7MPH @ 65MPH
Sucks!

Correct me if I'm wrong but wouldn’t you just use your SC gears on that differential to get the LSD benefit without the gear change? I know steeper gears would make your SC a great block to block racer but I don’t want my engine turning 3000-4000 Rpm going down the interstate. I would just use the LSD carrier and nothing else.

Now here is the question I have,
Will every thing else interchange and bolt on? Gears and axles ect. According to what I can find here in the CL forum I would say yes but I really would like to be sure.

Can't you just use the ring gear off the SC300? I have been told the 6speed will not fit in the pumkin of the diff used by the SC3/4s and the NA supras. Am I wrong?

I don't think you are, swap ring gears if you don't like the final drive ratio and be done...

If i am not mistaken, and please anyone jump in if I am, but to put the LSD out of a 6 speed supra into a 5 speed SC3 you will need to get a custom cut drive shaft. Lenth issues I believe. Should run around $500-600 bucks for a custom aluminum.

I have heard as low as $250 but I can't tell you if it was aluminum.

In regards to needing a new drive shaft from using the LSD alone, I'm not sure, but I know you do with the 6 Speed gear box.
