Broken rear TRD Race sway bar!!!!!!

About a year ago I broke the endlink , dealer replaced under warranty. When I purchased these Gordon at Carson told me they were solid and I called on Saturday and asked him if they were solid he said yes then I told him it snapped in half and it was hollow. I was told to email Steve Ganz about it, hope he helps me out . Are the Daizens solid? It looks like mine broke in the same place as Navaz's broke it was the drivers side.

You should contact TM Engineering for a confirmation but I don't think the Daizens are solid.

Solid sways would probably be way too heavy.

I guess nobody else is going to answer, so here goes:

TRD did have a solid rear bar, but they changed to a hollow one.

I have seen this problem quite a few times now, it probably stems from the fact that the bend is pretty sharp, over 90 degrees. This can sometimes cause excess fatigue on the metal during the production process, and of course by virtue of this part's function, it is bending constantly for its entire lifespan. Maybe they break and exhale a sigh of relief

The stock bar is solid, so the over 90 degree bend probably isn't as much of an issue. Stock bars can and do break though, so it's not like hollow ones are necessarily weaker or anything.

The unsprung weight benefit of course is substantial.

I contacted Steve Ganz at Carson through email since they will not put him on the phone. He offered me a 30 discount and free shipping . I don't think this is a great offer since this is the second time I had a problem with a part I ordered from them. The first time they did absolutely nothing for me. Also since I was told the sway bars were solid up until this Saturday. What does everyone else think would be fair of Carson Toyota to do to resolve this?

I noticed this weekend my blue TRD sway bar was broken as well. It snapped where it curves in the wheel well.

maybe its because they suffer too much stress when not used with stiff coilovers?
or if they run only the rear trd, and stock front?

Uhh ooh I plan to do the same with my ES for now. I was going to install KYB-Gr2 struts with TRD rear sways and TRD front strut tower brace on my 99 ES300 using factory springs for now (I wanted to feel what it's like with OEM ride before I went any further).

Is there anything I should be aware of? By the way, I'm running the 18" SC430 wheels on my ES now. Thanks in advance

Hollow sway bar? I'm surprised that TRD does this.

I found this article last year when comparing Herb Adams sways and Hotchkis sways for my 69 Camaro RS. It's a good read.
It gives you some background on hollow vs solid swaybars, and their effective stiffness.

TRD Racing probably suggests less added weight in the rear.
"Racing" sway bars are called racing because they are to be used on tracks. Tracks usually dont have potholes
