KYB vs Tociko
So has anyone compared them? I may be retarded but I did try a search and nothing came up for this forum.
I'm looking into a new set with a ProKit and don't really know which is better. My buddy runs Tokicos Illuminas on his FD and blew one out in 40K miles. Any thoughts comments?
For results I would like to see something sutible for aggressive street driving and Auto-xing with out going to a full coilover. I would but this is my daily and I will hopefully be picking up a track car next summer.
Also, any other options, something adjustable would be swell!
Thanks,

KYB's will ride pretty hard, haven't found anyone that has found them to be acceptable.
HP's are pretty much the way to go unless you go with the OEM shocks or coilovers.
We have them good in stock if you need them, and we have some KYB's also hardly used if you really really want those.
Email me todd@tmengineering.net if you have any other questions also..

Longevity both are very good.
Tokico will be slightly stiffer than brand new OEM shocks, KYB's are just pretty hard on the sharp bumps.
We have both in stock and ready to ship.

that depends which tokicos you get. If you get the hp's they are soft but if you get the tokico illuminas they can be made hard as hell. (5 way adjustable) just remember to get supra tt springs with them too.

yep they fit fine as long as you get supra tt springs along with it. don't forget though that becuase they are from the supra tt they will drop the ride a little more. So if you get supra tt springs that drop 1 inch you might get a 1.3-1.4 inch drop? Just becareful, I had to sell my suspension because the offsets on my rims were too agressive and i'd hit fender if I put my tokico illuminas/eibach pro suspension in.

Those aftermarket KYBs aren't even valved to the specific application; they're all the same, and are 50/50. This is more like what you'd put on a thirty year old Ford pickup or something, our cars deserve much more, the oem shocks will do you much better than these, don't know about the longetivity of the Tokicos first hand however, never used them on anything.
I use Bilsteins from a Supra application, seem to ride just a tiny bit stiffer than oem Supra.
