actually, i don't think it's going to affect anything at all. i ahve seen couple of GS with the whole rear fender tab cut out, it's all fine. the 4 screws in the rear fender tab, it's just to hold tha tblack plastic strip to the tab, nothing more. and the fender together with the fender well, it's put together very well. the car that i saw it cut all the way, they are still fully attached with each other

on the other hand, rolling is a pretty bad idea on the gs compared to shaving. coz' of the design, when you roll it, you can very easily chip the paint on the fender. now you ar talking about pretty expensive repaint job

and thanks to rmmgs4 again for all the pics. i can tell at least 4 norcal guys doing this on our cars before already. in fact i did mine right at rmmgs4's grage. with the right tool (read, grid 60 sand paper!!!!!!!!!), it's nothing more than a 30 mins job. very safe, very easy. just make sure you mask out the fender surface to be safe

When I had my rear fenders pulled/rolled, the professional hammered the inside trim so it got really close to the fender.

He didn't want to shave it because it would weaken the fender wall. I am happy because it looks like I have a lil fender flare action. hehe Here's the end result, as I really wanted this very aggressive setup taken at a friends house.

It looks like it rubs, but it does not as the sidewall on my tires angle inward.

sorry for bringing this thread back up.. but i am almost positive that i will be rubbing on my wheels tomorrow (when i install new wheels), so i will be posting pics throughout the day of my progress etc.. and maybe i can get some guide in terms of how much rolling and/or pulling needs to be done.

lex aristo, that has to be one of the nicest, cleanest, fender mods done. i hope mine will come out like that.. what size rim and tire are you running?

im going to bolt on my new wheels tomorrow.. just to see how much i need to pull, roll, etc.
i will post pics for you guys.. and maybe i can get some opinions.. i won't have to roll too much because the offsets are made for the car, but i just need to a little because i'm going to slam my coilovers.

RICHYRICH, what are the size of your wheels / tires? offset of your wheels? I like to get some 20'' for my GS4, worry about the rubbing, thanks.

what do you guys think? i don't even really need to pull my fenders, just roll.. right?
rolling is a DIY, pulling i should have a shop do, right? I couldn't find RMMGS4's write up on how to roll fenders.. how do you roll fenders?

Lol autocouturesc.. i trust SC guys advice,.. always good to get as many opinions as possible. and this is a general topic for all car owners who are trying to fit bigger wheels (-) the rubbing.

for more pics check out this thread

one way i saw was by using a belt sander.. it was hard to see in the pic what exactly he was sanding down.

instead of rolling i think you should shave the fender with belt sander, that's probably safer
