Default just swapped out my spare with a supra spare

The weight difference is significant. Supra spare is only 4" wide compared to the full size spare on the SC.

I was told that i had to put a spacer of some sort to account for the 2.5" tire width different to make it not rattle in the spare wheel well but on mine it fit without any problems (92 SC400)

Now I don't have to carry a 1" wheel spacer and the heavy spare to clear the TT calipers...

just thought I would share.

hehe, i'm on the same boat as you!

when i switched out my full size spare for the TT spare, i noticed that my car wasn't as low in the rear. i still have to adjust my coilovers to compensate for the difference.

and the weight difference is HUGE!

Did you guys use the screw-in hold-downs you had, or did you get the ones out of the TTs?
I'm about to purchase a TT spare, and I've been asking to include the hold-down thinking it might help me if my stock one can't hold the spare in place well.

i used the hold down from the SC400 and it works fine and keeps it in tight.

Quick question - If I put 18"s on my SC, but I have a stock 16" spare, if I blow a flat, will I be able to drive okay with the 16" spare (and the other three still 18"s)??

Sorry if this seems like a dumb question - I was asked this same question last night by a friend who just put 18"s on her WRX, and she was concerned about whether or not she should get an 18" spare...

I didn't know for sure, and thought I would ask here...I'm sure you guys know ALOT more than I do

Yea you'll be fine, just make sure to get it fixed ASAP. It will ride kinda wierd and you'll look goofy as helll, but it shouldnt be a big deal. Remember, the rim diameters are different, but the rim and tire diameters should be the same or very similar.

Thanks Aerostar...that's what I thought (that the overall diameter should be very similar, if not the same), and that's what I told my friend, but I justed wanted to run it by you guys as well...

That would look totally off...and funny....18"s on three of them, and one 16"...LoL

My first few months of owning the SC I was riding on 18" rears and 16" fronts.
Some of the looks I got were hilarious.
