Default Seeking advice...

Just purchased a 2001 GS 430 with 17 inch wheels. Planning to replace the original shocks to improve handling and performance. What do you recommend? (brand and model if possible). Thanking in advance for any input.

Oh and add the EDFC to the flex's that way youj can adjust the firmness on the fly from near stock to close to race ready.

Welcome to ClubLexus SL!

What are your goals in changing the suspension out? You mention improving the performance and handling... how much do you want to lower your car? Do you want it to be adjustable? Do you have a budget you are targeting?

I'm personally a big fan of Bilstein and I've done a lot of research on their products and am impressed with the quality and performance. I've had them (both my old spring/shock combo and my coilovers) on my car for a while so I feel comfortable recommending them to people. Lifetime warranty helps too . But there are lots of other very good options for your new GS.

There are a couple of very informative threads as the top of this forum you should read:

Here's my writeup on the Bilstein PSS coilovers I have now.

Morris also mentioned upgrading sway bars - that's another big handling performance enhancer you should consider.

Got to get Tein....I have HA coilovers waiting in the garage! HAs I her are pretty stiff but I like the ride a bit stiff.

Bilsteins are great too I had PSS9s on my M3 best suspension for that car at the time.

for me, if you can stand a bit of stiffness, tein flex with daizen sways, you will smile
