LS400 brakes do fit 2nd Gen GS!!
#138
The LS400/supra brakes do not require any mounting brackets to fit. They are a direct fit as far as mounting location. Only the LS400 calipers need the RCAs. The Supra will fit without it. But you need to make sure you have the right wheels to fit the wide calipers. If you run OEM wheels, you'll probably need a 15mm spacer upfront to fit. If you have aftermarket wheels, make sure they are high-disk type.
The ABS function is not affected because our sensors detect lockup, not brake force.

does anyone know the years of the supra's calipers that will work on the GS400 without any issues?
will NA supra calipers work perfectly? would it be an upgrade/downgrade?

the n/a calipers are not an upgrade. you would have to use the 93+ supra turbo calipers for it to be an upgrade. the LS400 calipers are a cheaper alternative compared to the supra. with the LS400 you will have to use a rca's for the calipers to clear. the supra is a straight swap.

I am confused aobut how that little braket is the key to getting the calipers on a GS.. seems kinda strange...

I searched more after my last post. I didnt realize the LS4 calipers were a straight bolt on and the LS430 calipers are a post mount style.
The RCA's make perfect sense now.

No. Spacers still need to be used for the LS400 calipers.
You can probably get away with a 10mm spacers with the LS400 calipers. I have about 6-7mm left between the caliper and OEM wheel and that's with the 15mm spacers. Obviously with the 10mm spacers, you'll have about 1-2mm of clearance.
