Glad to hear they made a big improvement in sound & noticable in handling. Post an update after you've had a chance to do some more 'spirited driving' on some nice curvy roads

How do they compare for the ability to lower the car vs the Flex? That (to me) wasn't a big deal... I don't want to 'slam' my car, just want the 1 finger gap look but that's an advantage for some who want to get their car real low. How low did you go

First and foremost thank you Dave

when i first installed these i didnt try to drop them as this was my real first suspension

i wanted to see what it felt like

i havent thrown tires yet on the Scaras BUT if need be ill throw th 18"Blitz Type 03's

i do agree with you on the 'spirited driving '

i have roads near me that would constitute that kind of driving and i am eager to try them out

so to answer your "how low did i go "question by the looks of these shocks

i can go real low lol

and Dave thank you ........for being a helluva guy

i think you know what thats for .....Happy New Year

johnny

guys i really do love these and will let any member from CL drive my car to show you

I'd be interested in this feedback too. I forgot that you were on winter 16s. Maybe in the spring. From what I can tell, these look like they are (in terms of feature) a combo of the good things about Flex and CS.

Congrats on the install!!! Glad to hear you love them.

I am curious to drive your car to feel how they handle and also to hear the noise level compared to the Tein Flex. I am sure we will meet in DC next year at the big East Coast meet! I am used to the noise (or lack thereof) of the Tein Flex. I say lack of noise simply because I have not driven another GS with the stock suspension and don't remember what my car was like before the Tein Flex.

I couldn't justify buying this suspension though - $2.5K I know I can live with the "noise"! When I eventually install all the sound insulation in my car, the "noise" level will go down anyway.

That is exactly what I thought too. I'd be very interested in hearing Johnny's feedback after doing some spirited driving!

How was the installation?

Did you have to take the loosen the "knuckle" from the Upper control arms in the front? I had A REAL hard time doing that.

actually thats the easy part

you pull the pin

loosen the "castle nut"

and take a mini sledge hammer and hit the knuckle with a couple of good ****s

and that will loosen it right up and when you put it back on never loosen the the "castle nut":

to put the pin thru you can always get that extra turn to slip the pin thru again

Well, after taking the pin out of the castle nut, I couldn't get it off. I used a mallet first. Then a regular hammer.....when that didn't work, I used a heavy sledge hammer. That still didn't work.

I didn't have ball joint opener (not sure the exact name), so I used a pickle fork and after a lot of hard hits, it finally loosened.....but the rubber boot got torn a little.

Thumbs up Zeal Function Zi

Glad to hear that things worked out the way they did for you. I guess they were worth the price of admission/acquisition. Cann't wait for the write-up after you've installed the Scara's and tried it in the twisties.

im going to have say i truly love this suspension

it handles every bump, pothole and whatever else was thrown it way perfectly and quietly

and i was finally able to have another member test them out

nothing but a smile on his face when he came back

im hoping he chimes in

i couldnt be any happier with my choice
