Default big rotor kit?

i was wondering, since i cant afford the big brake kit, would it be possible to use the supra size rotors with a caliper relocation kit? this way you can easily have larger rotors without the cost. just thinking what your thought may be anyone?

umm, you will need new brackets. who can make one that's strong enough and can handle the tremendous force on hard braking,t hat's up to the shop. imho that's a pretty dangerous mod.

plus after you increas the rotor size with pushed out calipers, braking will not be balanced

a welldesigned bracket/relocation kit, if available, would be only slighlty cheaper than getting used Supra TT calipers .... so if you want to save cost, search for an used set

But what if you have wheels that won't clear the TT calipers?

Just playing devil's advocate. I hear what you are saying though.

get some spacers ...

btw ... i tried thinking about developing relocation brackets, but since the size of the standard rotors and Supra rotors are not big enough, only about 1", so not enough space for the bolts ...

you mean relocation brackets for the rear GS calipers or .... lol

Btw .... the SC rear calipers and disks are likely the same as the GS ... so any GS solution should work on the SC as well.

glad to see that i have some responses on this. the reason why i ask is AEM makes a big brake kit for hondas that relocates the caliper using a larger rotor. i know its a honda and not a lexus but i thought that the same concept would work...kinda like the brackets for the LS 430 calipers made to work with our GS's.

I am pretty sure the OLD SC3/4s have the same brake mounting spacing as the Supra TT for front and rear calipers.

The GS only has front TT spacing. The GS rear is different than the old SCs, which is why TT brakes don't bolt on.

The concept works, but no one makes em for the GS to my knowledge. I've looked.

Glen, i meant the SC430 ...Henry has money to spend. I guess those rears are the same as the GS, but not sure.

I agree that the SC300/400 are the same as the old TT ...

I knew that's what you were saying, but when you first commented you just said SC without saying 3/4/430, so I didn't want anyone to mis-understand what you meant. Plus Henry responded that he would "expect" it to fit the SC3/400's.

Also, I do have a bracket design I'm working on to fit the TT rears to a GS. I know what you mean that the bolt space is close, but I figured out a way.
