Install L-Tuned Springs/Shocks without compressor?
Is it possible to do this? I've always heard how the springs can go shooting out, but when I put coilovers in my old stealth TT, I just used a floor jack and let them down slowly. Thanks for any help.

Hi flossn,
You need spring compressor to disassemle the struts and re-use the upper strut mounts. Coilovers replace the entire strut assemble including the upper mounts. I don't think you had to disassemble the stealth TT struts to mount the coilovers. Even if you purchased new upper mounts I am not sure if you can install them without compressing the spring. Hope this helps.

I don't think you need a spring compressor to remove the spring and shock assembly from the car . I am taking my springs and shocks to a local shop and have them switch the parts for me then I will reinstall the complete assembly. They are only charging $10 each to do this which I think is worth it to not have to mess with the spring compressor.
