The above people all got their DSR strut brace recently ... and yes, the current batch has powdercoated blue mounts.

Alex, can you comment on this:

but man, with the wings on and you can't put the stb on without denting the hood? that's kinda bad man. i think people should know that, otherwise some people might keep the ring on, put on the bar, and bam on the hood, dent it up......

so gsing430, what you gonna do now? take off the plastic cover on the edfc?

it's mounted right now, the rubber piece is off and the ring is off. the edfc clears but the back side of it, facing the firewall, is touching neck to neck, Without the ring, you can close the hood, it just sits against the padding. but if you keep the ring, in you're pushing against the hood, and i don't recommend that. i have pix of it. but i'm away from home.

can you paint over powdercoat easily? I think I'm going to take mine to a paint shop and have the bases painted.

technically you should take them out. it's almost like asking is it better to have wheel spacer or not imho

umm, even with the cover off and ring off, they are still touching neck to neck? wow that's close. not sure if it's good especially when you take hard turns, where the car will flex for sure, and push against the edfc, if at all? just curious

Chuck,
Why not just powder coat the whole thing the color of your choice? Much more durable than paint, almost impossible to scratch. There are hundredds of colors now to choose from, including some that look like chrome or brass. You could match your cars color or its brightwork (chrome, gold kit, black pearl whatever you got)

For TRD it's supposed to be something like 46 or 47 foot pounds. Seems like this should be about the same, after all, its the same nuts and bolts being tightened just a differnt bar spanning the strut towers.

wow man, that's really really close. the rubbing on the lining is pretty bad too (if you put the rings on). and i think it's really close to the edfc motor.

i guess the "bright" side is that now you don't have to worry about your motor units spinning...
