How does this combo handle? Im very interested in this. Thats a perfect drop on a S/S combo. Also, how much did you pick up the springs for?

Handles great. I also went with the Daizen poly.sway bushings. I'm gonna do the sways in the future. The springs go for about $350. I got a deal from a CL member a while back. He didn't use them so I got a new set!

What about the comfort level? Does the ride feel stiff?

From what I can tell from the feedback, it is pretty OEM like without the float. If you want an additional opinion, PM lexforlife. He used to have it too and he also pushes his car. He can probably give you a good idea of the ride and handling nature.

Todd at TME, the company that makes them, said that the best combo would be to use the L-tuned shocks or the Bilstein HD. The Bilsteins would probably be a little stiffer. My setup feels great. It's a happy medium. Very comfortable. I was actually surprised. I was expecting it to be a lot stiffer than it is. I love it! The springs are progressive rate. Meaning it retains the spring rate until it's compressed, then it will become stiffer.

I would probably enjoy the HD's too b/c I like to really push the car. I will tell you. Once you start with the suspension, you'll want every other part available!

Any thoughts on the Tanabe Sustec Pro S-OC Type II Coilovers -- seems like a good entry level coilover.

I jumped on the L-Tuned shocks/springs wagon... $330 is just too good a deal.

So here's my photoshopped before and after:

Before

After

Did I lower it enough?

Not a bad drop, let me know how the L-Tuned shocks/springs work out. Honestly I'd like to go a little lower for my taste. But its not bad at all, I bet some 19s or 20s would fill it out more. I wanted to go somewhere around 2" all around.

IMHO, I think it looks good. Especially with the stock chromies. If you go too low with the 17's then it seems like you're trying too hard.

L-tuned is too subtle IMHO. I'd say go with those Daizens or H&R

The more I read on the subject, I'm thinking a decent set of coilovers is the way to go if you have the green.

Default L-tuned

I got the l-tuned setup done last week on my 18's. I love it. It's good price and the ride is still smooth. You don't want to spend a lot of money and have your ride all messed up. So I say L-tuned all the way.
