I get a side to side shimmy on grooved freeways. Do you think this mod would help?

I doubt it. From what I read its from our mushy rubber bushing that make the car fall into dips and stuff.

The car will naturally move side to side slightly, since you can't always remain exactly parallel to the grooves. The mod may or may not help. Depends on whether you actually have a problem or not.

Default Rack, rack shaft/joint, tie rods replaced, still a problem?!

I also had loose feel when driving high or low speed, car has 100k miles.. my mech said it was the rack, got the rack replaced, it was tighter but still had same feeling.. the problem was the rack shaft/joint!! $260 part.. he replaced with no charge.. when he was taking the rack off he stripped thread of one outer tie rod, had them both replaced $45 each.. now my car is as tight as a BMW, I will actually untighten the pre-tentioner a bit..

My car now makes this cracking sound on drivers side coming from front end, called Carson Luis and he told me to have mech tighten the upper control arm or it might be need replacement, will see!! but I see that I need to replace the lower ball joints because I still get a bit of loose feel as I go over bumps or very rough pavement at about 10mph!! I hope it is not the upper control arm, it is like $260 per side.. Do you need to replace lower control arm and how much is that??

I believe if you don't change your 'tire rod ends' won't won't need to have an alignment.

If your ball joints where worn when you last had it aligned and you replaced them with new tight ones then you will need to align... otherwise I would say you should be okay with not aligning it... your call I think an alignment is cheap compared to tires and GAS... I have only done two sets of tie rod ends.. both times my wheel was 10% to the right... I counted turns... .. no luck.

I have stock gs300 2003 have this vibration problem, changed lower ball joints, outer tie rod ends got new Falken Ziex ZE-512,225/55R-16 95V B tires balanced and four wheel alignment. still got the shakes at 60 and above and when going through rough roads feels like the whole front is going to drop off. tomorrow will take it back to rebalance the tires and make sure they dont use the goop for lubrication

Talking Feels like a LEXUS now

The vibes are gone now I can finally enjoy the ride. Its gonna take a while to stop "listening" for the vibrations. Will go on highway tomorrow to test higher speeds (i.e 80sh)
stock 03 gs300, changed the following
outer tire rod ends
lower ball joints
new tires, road force balanced and 4 wheel allignment
(still had vibes)
found out struts were leaking
changed struts
changed lower control arms
4 wheel allignment
and now sweet (cost alot though for a car I just bought)
