Default question about strut replacement

I've been reading about strut replacement and the majority of the posts do not say anything about getting an alignment afterwards. I will only be doing the rears for now.

Is it a rule that you should always get an aligmnet after suspension work?

Sorry if this is a dumb question but so far I only have engine and electrical experience with cars.

Thanks,
Brad

its a rule only if the suspension is modified from what u already have ie new tierod ends, lowering the car with coil overs ect... otherwise u shouldnt need an alignment.
