there's "goop" comin out of the ball joint that the steering arm is connected to the knuckle?
i regretfully attempted some "frustrated-style" attempts to reinstall my stock suspension (what a @#$!@#$) and over stressed how far down the entire knuckle goes. I don't know if the goop that oozed out was do to this... but i noticed it afterwards (only cuz i looked at a certain angle in search of a way to get the shock in (which still isn't)
and yes it's 3:30am when i type this

just to make sure we're all the on same page...
i'm talking about the rubber boot where the steering arm connects to the hub... not the joint where the upper control arm connects to the hub...
so... replace it still? And can i get just that part?
