Default Brake LS 400 Upgrade questions

I saw someone who was selling a larger Brake caliper at one of the forums. The Brakes were a upgrade for the SC 400. They were black calipers that said LEXUS on the outside. They said they we LS 400 Brakes.. Anyone know anything about this Mod ? I have a SC 400 1997. Will they mount on the same Bracket ?

are you talking about the ones i have for sale?

search and you'll find a lot of good info about this "mod"

it's great and helps stopping powr a lot. and also looks great with aftermarket wheels

this is basically a budget big break kit.

OK 1st I have not seen a Post and thought it was called the LS 400 caliper. I did a search on LS caliper. I did find the set of IS Calipers after this but was trying to find out if you can just bolt on with new lager rotors or if you had to do mounting mods to fit a 97 SC 400.

you will need ls400 calipers and rotors, you cannot use your sc rotors with ls calipers
ls400 calipers and rotors serve as a direct bolt-on.. the only thing you will need to modify if your dust shield because you are putting a bigger rotor on

Hey thanks for your help. This was what i was trying to find out. Do you know what to do to Mod the dust shield, bend, cut ? Or can you also mount the IS dust shield ? Thanks

you just answered your own question . you can cut or bend your SC shield or completely take it off (which i think is your best bet). Or you can get the LS dust shield. But if you really can't stand brake dust here and there than get LS shields.
