Default LS Brakes= to TT brakes?

Just wondering what is needed to do this mod? what exactly needs to be modded? and is it just as good as the TT brake set up? whats the difference between this and the GS4 brakes ?... I can possibly get some for under $300

Mods can you leave this for a bit...thanks

These brakes will offer similar braking power to the TT supra set-up..In order for these to fit on your GS you will need a bracket that allows clearance..Other than the bracket it is a direct bolt on..

actually those are the ls400 calipers, and technically you can bolt right on the existing brackets no problem. but the bottom of the caliper will hit the suspension bolt. you can choose to shave the bolt like what jawnthen did on his car, or you can get another bracket made like johnee said, but that's going to be costly

as for the ls430 calipers, you need new brackets made for sure, they don't even bolt up

It is safer to use the bracket and it isn't that costly..

Man I just posted a pic of Jawnthens LS brakes today here: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=160739

I never took a pic of the shaved nut..

Basically all it is, is a tie rod bolt that holds the ball joint to the steering linkage.

You have to cut a 45 degree slice along one edge of the bolt using a dremel with a kevlar blade. This nut is also held in place by a cotter pin, so it's not going to come loose by any means. In fact even with the bolt removed the linkage will not come apart without using a ball joint removal fork and a 5 pound hammer to separate the two pieces. Based on that knowledge, Jawnthen made the call to let me put his nuts under the knife . (Pun intended)

That said, I take no liability if someone tries this at home. Do so at your own risk.

Yeah Henry that's a good point.

I was about to mention about using a fork and the 5 pound hammer to separate his ball joint, but I thought I better not.

Oops, I guess I just did.

Yup, they are LS400 rotors.

I test fitted TT rotors, but they were slightly too big.

Not sure were he ordered them from. I'll try to reach im. He's not on the forums lately cause he's trying to graduate soon.
