I just uploaded 2 pics in my gallery. The first pic here is of the damaged coilover. You can see the rubber piece that is torn and you can see the rubber shavings in the middle of the screen behind the bolt of the Tein.

This pic is of the drivers side for comparison

Thanks chuck. See what I mean about the rubber piece disintegrating. I hope I can just replace the rubber piece and all be well. Any ideas what can cause this?

definately not lookin good. I didn't notice all the rubber shavings until I read in your post. that rubber piece does not support the entire weight on that strut, does it? is there something underneath it that is supposed to hold it in place that is loose maybe? it looks like it has been loose, moving around causing that rubber bushing or whatever it is to wear down. good luck

Some of the rubber shavings are from the cover of the edfc motor. It rubs against my STB. I am not sure if there is anything structurally wrong with the coilover. It rides fine and the only time I notice is when there is a bump or manhole that I run over. It makes a jarring sound like something is rattling. I really hope it isnt something major, but if it is I will just buy a new unit, or maybe go to the JIC coilovers.

I don't know how to zip them, but I can reduce the size of them if you want

Update, I talked to Todd at TM a little and it may be my upper mounts that are bad. I think I am going to have to buy a new coilover, install the new one and remove the old one and send it out to be fixed and then I will have a spare in case anything else goes wrong.
I cant really wait to send the coilover in and then set the car until it comes back. I am not sure how safe it would be to put the stock shock and spring back in on one side and drive like that until the coilover comes back. I guess the best way is to buy a new unit and have the old one fixed, evev though it will cost me $500 or so. You gotta pay if you wanna play
