Question EDFC install.

Hello, everybody : I am in need of some guidance here. I am planning the install of the Teins EDFC on my 2000 GS-400. The install of the motors on the coilovers and the routing of the wires is not a problem; I have it all figure it out already. My problem is the tapping of the power connections : the accesory power , the all time power, ilumination, etc. What should I do, go to the fuse box, or splice the cables in the middle ? and which ones ? and how to know which ones are the right ones ? I do not want to mess around . I am going to do it myself, but I want to do a neat install. I can definitly use some help guidance. Thanks... Josey

The ground wire is an easy hook up. Just find youself a good metal location around there and connect that wire there. You can even loosen up a bolt from a good metal point and put your wire right there and tighten it back up.

The illumination you can tap into the wire from your headlamp switch. You just have to get youself a voltmeter to see which wire has the 12V when lights on.

For the battery and acc wires, what i did was I inserted the wires on the connector of the ignition switch. This way you don't need to cut or splice any wires.

I'm just wondering where some of you have installed the EDFC controller. I was thinking of sticking it in the ash tray, after some mod of course.

You can do a search on the location of the edfc and it shows a lot of pics with different locations. You can do the ashtray as some have but it is a very tight fit.

Catch the wiring at the back of the radio, constant power, key on power and illumination. If you really have to you can catch the illumination at any of the ash tray or shifter lights.
