Default DIY ball joints

Well, I got the car checked out today and was told that the lower ball joints need to be replaced. $530 parts and labor from the indy mechanic, $730 p&l from the local Lexus dealership. I did a search and it seems that there is enough info to DIY. My question then is there anything else I should do while I have the front end as broken down as it needs to be to do that job? I think I remember seeing bushings being replaced at the same time in a couple of threads. The car has 73K so if any of you folks know of any items that may need some attention, give me a heads up.

Thanks

Also, If any of you who have done this have any advice, it would be appreciated.

If you have time, that would be helpful. Also, are there upper and lower joints? because the mechanic only wrote down "ball joints have play"

The mechanic previously worked at the local lexus dealership. He quoted me $230 for parts and $300 for labor. When I called the dealership, they quoted me $127/ea for the lower ball joints. The disparity between what each dealership is charging is pretty crazy. As I said before the Lexus place wanted $730 for the whole job.

I found that it is the lower ball joints.
Just got off the phone with Darell (he is the best). $71/ea. I'm really pleased with that.
