Default ABS... is it supposed to be that overeactive?

I notice whenever I press on the brakes somewhat moderataly it kicks in and starts the foot massage!

WTH!!! Im not even threshold braking or anywhere remotely close! It ussually happens when I press the pedal close to half way or maybe a little less. Is it suppose to be this finnicky? Or is something wrong? I dont have any abs light or any type of indication that anything is wrong rather then its to sensitive for my tastes. And the car has very decent braking power for stock.

Like coming off highway slowing down going about... 70-65 60.. light is green Im making a turn. I press on the brake and sure enough foot massage. I didnt slam on the brake I just pressed the brake to slow down enough for the right hand turn. (about 30ish? Im not sure I wasnt looking, front all season tires will cry for mercy if you come in to hot, and its difficult to judge speed on this car at times.)

It also does this at times when IM just slowing down for a stop light at times... I have to be really really really gentle for the abs not to kick in? Is this normal? What gives? Its been doing this since I got it... But I was wondering if this is normal at all? It doesnt brake uneven or anything its just kicks in way too soon imo.

Primary job of ABS is to prevent wheel lockup during braking. Your pedal effort is secondary issiue, main issiue is avaiable traction between particular tire and pavement. This is to be asked first.
