Default GS300 lower springs w/o new shocks?

I would like to lower my 2nd gen gs300 with new springs using the factory shocks. Will there be any problems?
And also, what is a reasonable price spring set? Low enough to make the 17" stock look good.
Thanks.

I lowered my 2000 GS3 when brand new with eibach pro kit and factory shocks. Still a pretty smooth ride, but much better in corners though. Still running the same setup with 30k miles.

Asking for trouble in the long run.....your stock shock are not made to be lowered

I had them installed on my car at about 10k miles or so. Didnt have many problems but went to coilovers not too long after. If the car has more miles it may be more problematic for you to use the stock shocks. Most people will upgrade to the bilstein shocks, or you can look at the Ltuned suspension, which you can get for around $600.

just wait till you have the money to get aftermarket shocks as well. you don't want to pay double installation and at the same time damaging your stock shocks

i would do it right the first time. not only double install but double alignments. not unless you don't care.

most stock shocks will not last long once it's lowered because you'll be putting a lot of stress on those stock shocks.

Stock shock + Eibach 30MM is what I run, no problems. The shock absorber is only working around 65% efficency though, as it has restricted movement.

Good for 2s off your lap time at the track. Car is much sharper also, just go easy on the potholes.
