Default TRD sway bar installation - need help

I'm installing TRD sway bars.

The stock bush is too small for the rear sway bar.

What do I need to change? Do I need a new bushing from TRD? Or do I need other stuff?

My Jap supplier is not understanding the situation fully, so I need some plain English help!

Thanks!

My TRD swaybars came with their own bushings, which I used. So I would suggest that you try to get some from TRD. I never even tried to use the old ones but since the TRD bar is thicker I can see why they wouldnt work out.

yup the trd sways come with new bushings, you need them for sure

your trd sways look funny though, the color. trd has two sways, one race and one sport. the race is dark blue and the sport is white. yours is baby blue, weird color?

Thanks for the comments guys - I now can clarify that bushes should have come with the bars.

I hope it stops makin' the car roll, I'm destroying my front left tyre at the track all the time, and scrubbing them on my wild road driving (lots of twisty roads here).

Installing Tein Flex + EDFC and LSD 2.0 also so should have improved handling.

Anyone know where I can get the special Tein strut-bar to clear the EDFC motors?

Be careful with the LSD, the car will handle very differently when you put it in. where the car used to understeer when pushed to the limits, it will now oversteer. I learned the hardway and hope to save you the heartache.

Tein Strut Bar:

Tein has them in there catologue but I havent heard of any distributors that have them actually in hand but then i havent tried to get them in a couple of months either.

Good luck with getting them busshings. Neither Carson's or TRD would get me a set for the used TRD Sway I bought early last year.....I gave up calling around trying to find someone with them.

Well I wonder what you are supposed to do when the bushings wear out then?

The 2.0 LSD is supposed to understeer more. Most race cars are set up to understeer a bit, so not such a bad thing.

Worrying news about the rubber bushings, that's **** service from TRD.

Maybe if my Jap can get them I should order a few sets for you guys?

Well the boys from Carson tried to get me some, but a week later they said TRD Japan won't send any or sell them without buying sway bars. I was a bit upset about that. I called a few Local Toyota Dealerships too, and they told me the same thing too.

I bought some aftermarket bushings but I didn't want to use them. They have been in my trunk for over a year. If you can get some from TRD, we would owe you BIG time.

OK, I'll see what the Jap supplier says. If he can source them, I'll try for several sets as they seem to be like gold dust.

Last time I buy a TRD product

interesting, i thought with lsd you usually get more oversteer than usual?

anyway, i think the trd bushings they are also rubber. that's one reason why i am not getting them coz' they will wear out fast over time still
