I am going to order the Tein Basics or the Tein SS coilovers Monday. Should I spend 240 dollars more and get the adjustable struts? Are the Basics that stiff? Where would the basics rate on the SS adjustable scale? In the middle, or at the harsher side of the scale?
I have 165K mile or a set of Eibachs and the ride is fine with me. I bought the car used, so I don't really know what It is supposed to feel like. I was just thinking the Tein Basics would be fine, but I have heard of them being too stiff.
I need some more opinions, what do you think?
Money is an issue. It is a daily driver, I just need to raise the back end up to get the rear chamber problems solved...
Thanks Guys,
Dustin

For me I'd go with TEIN SS coilovers, namely because they don't sell the Basics here in Australia. But they seem to have a lot more functions compared to the Basics for a little bit more money.

i have SS on mine and i like it, i too was desiding between basic and ss, and i'm glad i made that choice, full >hard< is bouncy but only on big bumps and it's only one or two rebounds, not like them civics you see hopping like a frog for half a mile after they hit a bump and yet still comfortable enough that i can live with it, and if you dont like it you can always set it to softer, where with basics you are stuck on one setting forever, well almost, untill you switch to something adjustable

Neo - I have been searching for Toyota Supra 93-98 coilovers...
Now I have decided to go with the Adjustable ones, Now I am not sure weather to go with the stock rubber mounts or go with the aluminum pillow ball setup???
How long do the stock rubber ones last? I have 165K miles on these, I think.
Too many choices.................................

To do over I'd spend the dough and get the adjustable. The basics have great control and I was expecting to lose some comfort for handling. My wife however is not a fan, so the ability to change would have been a great benefit.
I called and talked to Tein directly about the upper mounts. The rubber will give you a softer ride the aluminum would be better for drifting.

Thanks for everyones help!
I ordered the Tein SS coilovers. It is the least expensive adjustables, I could find. I also ordered a rubber bushing for the steering rack!!! I know that is going to help alot!
If anyone has had any issues with the SS's please holler. I don't want to make any bad choices, if I can help it.
Here is a great thread about the Tein Flex, HA, and CS, If anyone is looking for more info.

It helped me some, But those three are out of my price range.
Again, If anyone has experience with the SS, please write what you think about them.
Thanks Guys,
Dustin
