Default is L-tuned still availiable?

some people on here suggested getting the L-tuned suspension, but i've looked for it and it seems to be discontinued because only the springs are availiable. So my questions are

1. is it still availiable somewhere?
2. Is it worth it just replacing the springs, because i really dont want a sacrifice in ride quality.
3. if not, are there any other suggestions on kits that'll lower the car about an 1".

thanks

L-Tuned has been discontinued for awhile now. Sewell Lexus must have cornered the market onthe parts because they had a good supply of many of the L-Tuned parts. They were selling them at blowout prices. I am not sure of the supply now.

If they are out, you are at the mercy of the used market and luck. Luck because there may be a few shops/dealerships with a set in their inventory but there is almost no way of knowing unless another member knows or you contact just the right one.

You can replace the springs but the shocks were not made for the aftermarket springs. It is hard to tell what the ride conditions (quality and handling) are afterwards. The shocks will wear out faster but from what I can tell, this is on the order of 20k-30k miles, not 5k miles. I guess it also depends on the age of the current shocks.

As for alternatives, I'll let members with alternative setups answer. I had the L-Tuned but went to coilovers afterwards so I have not kept my eyes on the springs/shocks market as much as I should.

Confused, I jsut purchased 18" rims, so now friends are telling me to lower. I'd spend a few hundred or a little above a grand, but not if I have to do so every few years cause the repalcement parts are less quality?

Would I go to a Lexus dealer and ask to be L-tuned?

help appreciated

If you are going the shocks and springs route, you need the springs to lower. You actually do not have to have the l-tuned shocks because you can lower on the OEM shocks. I cannot guarantee how the car will behave, though, because the OEM shocks were not made to handle the height and spring rate of the L-Tuned springs

It will cost the same to install just springs or shocks and springs. You might as well get both if you can find them and install them both at once.
