brake mod
I am planning to upgrade the brakes on my 2000 GS-400 to the Supra TTs at front, and I was thinking that, if it will be possible to , once I replace the front calipers with the Supra TTs , mount those regular front calipers in the rear . After all , they are bigger that the rear calipers. It will be an upgrade because being bigger they will act as a upgrade caliper on the rear , and the savings will be sustantial, moneywise. My question is : Have anybody ever heard of this mod, and , can it be done and be worth it ? Thanks to all for your time. Josey

it cannot be done unless you are willing to invest a lot of money.
Firstly, the front calipers won't fit the rears, so you need to get brackets (very expensive!!!)
Secondly, the rear rotors (rotor thickness) cannot work with with the front calipers, so you need different rotors as well.
Also, the braking balance may be off significantly. The front calipers may be too strong to put at the rears.

Supra TT rear calipers won't bolt on and you need to either modify the rear hub or modify the calipers .
You can also upgrade to LS430 rear calipers, see lexforlife for instance. PM me for more info.
