L-Tuned Steering ECU
Guys,
When I bought my car the guy told me that it had the L-Tuned steering ECU already installed. He didn't know that he had it on the car at the time he bought it, so he bought another one. I have the receipt for it in front of me for $135.
I was looking at it and I can't tell any difference between it and what would be considered the stock steering ECU.
Can someone tell me how I can make sure this is the L-Tuned one before I sell it on here as I don't want to screw someone over. It was in an envelope with L-Tuned installation instructions.
Thx,
Jonny

Hey Jonny. It's been documented in other threads here to mark the new ECU. So when I got my order I marked it L-tuned and did the swap and then marked my stock unit. When I had the stock unit out it had the exact same markings as the L-tuned unit. I guess they reprogrammed the units and didn't come up with a good renumbering idea.

Thank you for the response. I guess my only way to find out is to switch them out and see if I notice a difference
Do I need to reset the ECU for the switch or no?
Thx,
Jonny

No reset needed, if your thinking of the ECU for the tranny shifting. I'd also say that you'd only notice a significant difference if you have a good sport suspension and sport wheels. Test her at different speeds. And make sure your ball joints are solid...every thing up front in good shape. You want to make sure the ECU is the weakest link in the "steering chain" so to say then put in the L-tuned steering ECU...just IMO.

Working with electricals ... disconnecting the battery is advised {not necesary but prudent}. Side effect -> reset of main ecu and loss of presets
