Default SC400 strut tower bar

Anyone got one of these on their 92-97 SC400? There's a seller on fleabay that has shown pics of the bar installed on his SC400, so I'm guessing fitmet is pretty good...but I'm just wondering if anyone actually has one and any feedback....looks cool, and seems to fit...decent price too...as long as I don't hear anything negative, I think I might get one...

here are the pics of the bar...

I was wondering about that bar also. Seems that if the chassis flexed that the bend in that bar could be a weak point and that it may bend more or break. But I'm no expert on that stuff. Anyone else got any thoughts?

Yeah, the "V" shape looks like a weak design. I've read that the suspension geometry is fairly rigid on the SC already and that any additional benefits from a supplemental brace would be minimal at best. I'd say save your money -IMHO.

Looks like a big waste of time and money, just like the intake he has on his ride.

It's good for comestic dress up for your engine..Nothing more..I would get two of these STB's and put a piece of glass over it. It would make a great coffee table..

or maybe not....

soo... i went ahead and bought one of these strut bars....just to see if I could tell any difference. Fitment was perfect...no clearance problems (see picture 3), and surprisingly, it seem to corner a little bit better...less flex...not that there was much to begin with, but there seems to be less roll when I corner fast...just thought I'd report about this, incase any other SC4 owners were thinging of getting one.

Main reason I got it was for the dress up I even got a few compliments on it when I went in to get a new battery

Here's some pics of how it looks in my car...

When I get a bottle of gas for the welder, I want to make a K brace that will go back to the firewall.
I have to admit that I've never seen a strut that had a bend in the middle of it before this.

Ya the bend really is strange in that it is bent in the direction of the force when the car "twists" in a fast tight turn. It looks like it is more for show. Hey if it looks good, go for it. IMO a sway bar mod would do way more for stability. Well I am off to the Luxury Mods Meet.

.. i bought this bar for my SC about a month ago from the same guy on ebay.. t
hought it might be a waste of money but it was fairly cheap for a strut bar so i thought i would get what i paid for but not 4nuthin it does dress up the engine a bit. Surprisingly though I did notice an improvement on tight curves at a higher speed. Conclusion - Id say for the 40 bucks u cant realy go wrong with this bar.

Im not really a fan of that bend eather, but I dont doubt that it does add a little more rigidity to the front. I want one of the Carbing bars. But there expensive. Ill have pics of my new Rear Strut Tower bar this weekend. Just got it back from the welder today. It looks good!
