one of the bushings is differnt in size. if you swap the whole arm, that's no difference. but if you change the bushings, they are different

ben,

the 00+ will not work on your 99 because the caster arm bushings are different size. you need to buy 98/99 bushings to make it work.

i believe the upper and lower control arms are the same regardless of year.

so it depends if you are going to replace all your bushings or just specific items.

you dont need to by new castor arms unless they are bent. buy the correct size bushings for your application, which is 98/99. i would not go hunting for an 00+ castor arms if your 99 arms are good.

lexus redesigned the size of the bushings for unknown reasons and by replacing all your bushings, you'll get that factory fresh steering.

my problem right now is that i cannot find anyone local who would do the bushings for less than $1200. the only way i can afford this is if i send out for cores elsewhere, and the ones i found are from a 00 model. i cannot afford the 1-2 week turaround time to put my car up on blocks somewhere because i had to ship my originals elsewhere...

like i said you get a 00+ control arm (the whole thing) it will fit on your car no problem (as far as i know). so you can get a 00+ caster arm, send it in for bushing install, come back, and it should fit on your car

you can double check with tm engineering if you want

Hmmm...sorry for going off topic a bit.....but, does anyone know whats the largest size Metric socket required to remove the lower ball joint and the upper/lower control arms?

just had mine install earlier today with my tom's front, i did feel a difference but was expecting more. oh well... time to find other ways of stiffening the gs.

Got my bushing kit.... am about to attempt removal of the UCA, LCA, and castor arms (I have a hard time with all this stuff)

Taking this chance to subscribe to the thread for updates too.

Any pointers on what to be careful with on removal and installation of the parts? So far I have: speed sensor, ABS sensor, and UCA ball joints.
