Some people say its the quality of the ride and it isbecause i rode in a car with Airrunner but i think you can make any kit as good but i know it would cost more then just what the mini truck kits go for. Introductory price for a kit is what i see the kits here in the states put out and i think with more money you can make it the best thing out there. Airrunner is a simple bolton kit that the average user can appreciate without going through head aches of trying to make it perfect and thats why i think it cost so much. Please dont get me wrong i think you can build a kit to the same ride satisfaction but i know it would cost more money to get quality work done to it. I use to own a S10 and i got a kit that was like 1500 but then it was missing alot of other things that i can do like a 4 link and custom mounts shock relocators and upgraded fittings... not to mension Viair compressors and better valve set ups. Also it would depend on the installer also there are some sick fabricators out there then there is the newbie ones that just hack the hell out of your ride... as the saying goes you get what you pay for.
