Does braking suffer much with 18" wheels on SC3/4?

I'm just nervous about the brake suffering from getting the bling bling. The brake already sucks as it is on stock wheels size.

I upgraded to 18" wheels and definitely noticed a difference. You'll probably notice some
slower off the line performance as well.

On the positive side side, you will probably have better handling and it would be a good
excuse to get bigger brakes. Just make sure you get wheels that will clear big brakes if
you do decided to go this way.

Good luck and keep us posted.

It will change the braking characteristics but your brakes with stock wheels should not "suck". While braking on the SC with stock components is not awe-inspiring, they far from suck. Perhaps you have an existing brake issue that needs to be resolved before going to the 18's

I see you post questions everytime your imagination gets curious. This doesn't really make it fair that alot of others search while you get some sort of special treatment and post whatever you want. Lets try some searching please because I am 100% sure this subject has been brought up and answered.

And yes, it is recommended that you upgrade your brakes as you go up in wheel diameters, widths, and weight.

You asked the exact same question in your own thread a month ago: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=179243

It's not a problem if you get a wheel that is lighter than stock (Volk Gram lights, Le37, Te37)

Simple high school physics could have answered your question.

Not exactly true. Wheel diameter and location of the weight is of importance.

I considered this too. However, as long as final tire+rim diamter remains the same and overall weight is significantly less, an 18 inch rim should not be a problem on stock brakes.
