Should I buy these from a member here?
Alright guys, I need everyones input here. I have a '93 SC400 bone stock and would like to buy these from a member here. They are Tokico blues and Tanabe combo. The thing is that he cut 1/4 coil from the front springs to give it an even look. He said the original springs uncut leave a bigger gap in the front. Though he did this, he states that the ride is still very smooth and that I shouldn't have any rubbing issues. Can someone just give me some comfort and let me know if this is a good idea to buy these. I really dont want any scrubbing or rubbing issues at all. I'll be running 235/35/19 in front and 265/30/19 in the rear with the offsets of 38 both front and rear. BTW, I hope he doesn't mind me posting a picture of how it sits but here it is on his ride. Looks good doesn't it?
All suggestions will be very very appreciated..............................................

How do you cut a 1/4 coil? it's either one coil, 2 coils, etc. You cannot cut 1/2, 1/4, or 3/4 coils. When someone does cut coils (which I wouldn't do), you should always cut exactly where it would sit in the upper perch or "hat" If you cut a 1/4 coil, it will never seat right.

If it were only one coil that was cut it wouldn't make a huge difference, as long as it was cut properly and not "heat treated" to make them sag and look lower. You run into spring rate issues/problems when you use different brands in front and in back.
If the set-up is cheap as hell (which any "cut spring" set-up should be) then I say go for it. But if it's just slightly cheaper than say an Eibach set-up then I'd say to pass on these and buy an unmolested set just to be certain. Being as you want to run a 235 tire in front it may look better with these cut springs since 235's are pretty thin.
and that thing on the fender appears to be some type of fender vent, although I can't tell if it's real or a sticker. Not my cup of tea though. Nothing "Euro" belongs on the SC.
