would you be interested in ap racing rear brakes?
this is NOT a groupbuy yet, it's just information gathering at this point.
so i was talking to stillen the other day, the sole distributor of ap racing brakes here in the US. everyone knows that they have 6 pistons setup (either 13.5" or 14") for GS300/400/430, the SC300/400, and the SC430.
however for the rear setup, they only have it for the SC300/400. resaon is that these brakes are actually all from the supra setup, the SC300/400 share the same brackets setup front and rear, but the GS300/400/430 and SC430 share the same but different setup.
i asked stillen and they said they can fabricate the bracket to fit the supra 4 pistons setup in the back, however they will need certain number of people to justify the cost (around 5).
so my question is, how many of you would be interested in getting these, or join the whole ap racing group? the retail of these stuff aren't cheap. the front 6 pistons setup is around 2800, and the rear 4 piston setup is 2000. pricing might vary if there is a GB or whatever, but let's not go that far, this is just a poll for interest
and BTW, just for your information, there are two different ap racing 6 pistons setup for the lexus, 13.5" and 14". i asked stillen about the difference. the 14" is larger, looks better, mostly for the "look" market, it requires 18" wheels at the minimum, and so it does not fit under the supra tt wheels. on the other hand, the 13.5" will fit just within the supra tt wheels, and it actually has thicker rotors and more heavy duty, mostly for people looking for best performance at the track. and also, there is a 2000 bucks difference as well, the 13.5" at 3000 and 14" at 2800

What about bias? Same front kit in both setup (front vs f/r)?
You got me thinking now Henry?

Hey Henry, you forgot one poll option - I want the ap racing rear to go with my StopTech fronts!

chris. damn sorry, yes it's ust 200 difference. if it's 2000 i would puke already the difference on performance imho it's much, unless you live on the track. for normal street use i would actually guess no difference.
the 14 and 13.5 kits actually use DIFFERENT front calipers, the 13.5 one is quite a bit larger. i think that will help to counter set the bias in the front to be about the same? and in terms of front and rear bias, with the rear setup it's actually a lot more balance, since the front kits are actually used in the supra tt. so with a larger rear it should be better.
well, chris, i was just exploring more options for you to be honest in terms of pricing it's not too different from stoptech, but you got 6/4 instead of 4/2 if you join, i think we got 3 already
and hameed, sure you can join and get it for your car, though to be honest, do you wanna do it coz' they are different brands and the balance would be way off?
