Default Average Cost for S/S install?

I just got my new set of L-Tuned Springs and Shocks. Searching for threads on here for what people paid was not helpful, unless the administrators can help me with the search. I do not have the time or the tools to DIY. So can some give me a cost estimate and recommendation of either Lexus Dealerships or Local Mienke or SpeedShop in the Maryland/DC/Va Area. Thanks.

i won't say cost coz' it varies a lot from areas to areas, but s/s? should take more than 1 to 1 1/2 hour with the right tools

My Lexus dealer wanted around $450 and wanted to keep the car for a day. My local import performace shop charged $175 and I was out in under two hours.

Hey Nate, the average shop will charge somewhere in the 180-250.00 range, and remember to factor in a extra 100 or so for an alignment.

Wow, that's cheap compared to Lexus I called near me. They quoted over 900.00 for 5 hours plus 109.00 for alignment. I am skeptical of using a shop because of knowledege and experience in dealing with Lexus Vehicles. ie, Goodyears and Mienekes of the world. I guess I have no choice. The service provider was surprised that I actually found a set and wanted to know where I got them from because he has a lot of customer asking about aftermarket parts and wheels. Of course, I pointed him to this forum, lexus-parts.com and to D2-autosports for start. I guess local shop is the way to go I am afraid of them screwing up the speed sensors and causing a CEL to come on.

Sewell Lexus here in Dallas, who I bought the S/S from, wanted $800. I went to another specialized Lexus shop and they charged me $500 with an alignment. If I had to do it again, I would have shopped around more. I should have done it myself and bought another mod for the $500 .

I got a quote for $850 from the dealership here in Chantilly, VA. I ended up paying $325 at a local tuner shop. Cheapest I found, and I called about 10 places. Most wanted around $450. These are all labor only prices.

i paid $250 for install at a local shop....but that was 3 yrs ago.

Since then....I've helped install coilovers on 3 different GS owners. Having the right tools is always good.

umm.... it's funny. those of us in cali we sometimes complains that it sux being in cali coz' we pay tax for a lot of stuff since most companies including carson toyota are in cali. but i guess we really make it up on labor and such. paying 250 bucks for s/s install, that would be called a total rip off here in cali

Well, I found a shop that'll do it for $250.00. Want to thank all of you for your response. I love the way the car drives with just the sway bars. Going to wait until I get the wheels to see is 1" drop of the TRD S/S will be enough or sell them and get somethind different.
