Does your SC have crappy handling?
#196
I was actually playing around with my Front KYB GR-2's i just got and a set of IS300 Coilover sleeves. Got the fronts to fit fine even looks like it came like that. Just gotta see if the rears will do the same cause the Sleeve is not the same.

I still think one of the biggest disadvantages of the SC is the need for weight reduction. Keep on thinking of new ideas. My latest is an aluminum spare with 205-60-16 tire. Now for that sunroof delete.

The average lifetime of a coilover is ~about 5 years long in a race environment (no absolutes) however, in a race setup, you are supposed to re-pressurize your suspension every year. Street is obviously longer and repressurize your shocks every other year. Most people do not do this. They just replace the coilover when they just need to repressurize it because they notice they are not that effective anymore.

i had 2 240s so im quite disappointed with the way sc handles, but then again, i love the way it rides... i guess you give and you take, you cant have a light car and expect it to be quite and as luxurious.

I just purchased my car last night and the handling feels pretty decent for the most part. But I am looking for upgraded bushing and not having good luck with ones that has good feedback. All I am finding or the Daziam(iirc) bushing that are having alot of fellow drivers pretty pissed off.

OMG guys, we ALL should do lance's alignment specs!!! I just got mine done (took 3 shops to find one to do it) WOW. The handling difference is HUGE!!! I honestly did not think it was going to make THAT big of a difference!!! BTW, I have Supra Eibach 1" drop springs with stock shocks.
The car is SO much more stable in a corner- I don't know how but it steers so much better too- think more BMW steering than Lexus. It is so good, I do not know why Lexus did not do this from the factory good.
I just switched from a max performance tire to a cheaper ultra performance all season of the same brand, and the car grips better with the all season! It outright handles like a dream. I would not say that if I didn't really mean it.
The biggest change I have noticed is before alignment, when it approaches the limit before, the handling was fudgy or clumsy- the car felt like it was heavy and would just let go all of a sudden mid-corner. Your white knucked cornering on the street was best reserved to 8/10'ths driving no more.
But now- OMG the car FEELS like it handles on rails and goes exactly where you put it, no fudging. It doesn't feel heavy or clumsy at all, and my car has 4 BLOWN SHOCKS. (I am getting a custom susp. later) Even on a worn out suspension it is so much more neutral you are really comfortable at the limit you have to conciously have to slow down from what feels normally 8/10'ths is now 10/10'ths at a much faster cornering speed. I looked down the other day I took a 90 degree corner @ 60mph. Holy cow what a difference!!!!
The other thing is when it does slide out, it does so very smoothly and progressively- totally controllable by driver. Before, it would just all of a sudden let go and you were along for the ride. The slides are progressive and your right foot will dictate where the nose will go (THE WAY A CAR SHOULD HANDLE !!!) I am estatic. Today my car is getting a TRD LSD put in. This should be interesting. This mod should make the biggest difference, and the Alignment was a huge difference.
This car is a handling MONSTER now. Can't wait for the LSD to go in. After suspension, I can see this thing being a race car.

ps: redpheonix your car looks awesome with ssr's. What offset are those?
