Default Brake light coming on...

I've noticed the last couple days that my brake light in the dash has come on for a second or two while driving. It doesn't happen every time I drive but it has happen at least 3 times now. I checked and the eb wasn't pressed in and I release it to check. I also checked the brake fliud and its fine. What could it be?

is the fluid anywhere near the low line? if it is it could be triggering light when cornering or bumps etc.

if it's low it's also likely the pads are worn.

Hmm, its not low I checked it. But I didn't check the pads, i'll do that tomorrow. Geez I hope not I really don't drive the car that much for the pads to be worn already.

This has happened to me a few times over the last six months. I think it's happening because I'm accidentally tapping the emergency brake when I get in the car. When I pull on the eb release, the light turns off. Does the light go away when you pull on the eb release?

Its been happening to me for the past month, my car has 104K and I have never bleed the system, the system tends to accumulate moisture after time and that's what I think my problem is. I plan to take care of it ASAP, and you should too, not safe man.

Anyone figure this out? Mine is starting to do the same thing but now it comes on continuously while Im driving. At all speeds above forty, pressing the gas will make the light will go away. Slowing down in any way will make the light come on. Its kind of funny actually, I find myself going faster to make it go away. Gas...No light.....No gas...light. Its become kind of entertaining over the last couple days. The release for the ebrake is ok and fluids are also fine. No work has been done in the last month or so.

Just a thought, but have you check the 3rd brake light? Mine is out, actually part of whole strip is out, so it registers and that light is constantly on. Not sure if the warning light is the same as anything brake related

I felt real stupid I thought I was ok on brake fluid but when I looked a little closer I was just a bit low and when I topped it out no more light.

It happened to me a few months back. The brake level/light is pretty sensitive, so if it level while your standing still....once you start moving and taking corners, thats what triggers the brake light to come on since the fluid is moving all around in there. The more your pads wear down....the lower the level will go. Glad you figured it out.
