Default car shakes over 60 mph

I have a sc400 i have tein basic street coil overs, and the hp racing rims on them, and the hub centric , but ever since i put the rims on i get a bad shake over 60 ........ i balanced the tires (the only thing i can think of is that the camber could be off since the car is so low . Also i hear a sqeek in the rear driver side when i pull off . someone help please

Default i had same prob

I had the same prob... and it still hasn't completely gone away, even as slight vibration as it may be... the best thing is to get an alloy 2 balance...make sure to rotate as often as possible (I use discount tire lifetime b&r and they are cheap as dirt)...make sure to check air pressure as often as possible (discount tire does this for free, u dont even have to get out of your car)... and get the wheels torqued.... However, I am riding on 20's so my prob might be just that...

Try getting them rebalanced. It's hard to get rid of vibrations with bigger rims and low profile tires

when its not a balancing issue, it should be that your bushings are bad

worn bushings will cause vibration. also... the factory lug nuts are designed to go thru the wheel and make contact with the rotors and hold them correctly. with aftermarket wheels the rotor is just being squeezed on by the wheel if original style lugs are not used. this will also cause vibration and is often overlooked or dismissed.

my dealer optioned prime wheels were lug centric, they didn't vibrate

my new 18" rims are lug centric with hub rings, they shake from 70-80

Yup it can be a bugger to get stuff that isnt toyota/lexus to sit right.

There are a lot of factors that contribute to wheel vibrations. Almost any part that bolts to the spindle/hub can cause it.

One last thought about wheels and lug nuts. Wheel vibrations can also occur when someone tightens the lug nuts incorrectly. Like when lugs on a given wheel are torqued out of order or torqued with the weight of the car on them the wheel can be pulled slightly out of balance.

I always torque my wheels in a star pattern without weight on them.
