Default What Kind of lowering springs to get

Hey... im finally going to get some suspension work done due to my rear struts being shot. I was wondering what kind of lowering springs are out there that will lower but wont bounce like those lil civics (that i beat on the LIE but ne way ) I heard of tien and elispers and of course eibach but i have no idea about spring rate.
P.s. would going with supra suspension (stock or aftermarket) be better handling along with being lowered?

anything made for the sc3/4 or supra will work, the reason why cars bounce is due to improper struts on the car or worn out struts. so if you or anyone who lowers a car puts on the appropriate shock for the springs it will handle better, lower the vehicle and not bounce around. so choose how low you want to go and find a shock that will handle it and ull be fine. search for the words "raked" and "springs" and you will find all the info you need.

i ditched my coilover idea and am goin with springs and shocks. i will be getting KYB AGX shocks and tein S-Tech springs. reason y i dont want eibachs cuz they lower 1.5 in front. and with stock supra suspension u already lower it by like .5. so the front will be too low. tein will lower it 1.1 plus that .5

Default Tokico Illumina

After two years I am still happy with my Tokico Illumina Shocks and springs that I purchased from TM Engineering.

my best suggestion to keep a good handling vehicle while also being able to withstand the abuse of rough roads AND being lowered, stay away from the koni g2's, tokico blues, stock shocks, or any stock replacement shocks since they are not built to handle a lowered vehicle. otherwise you can choose any shock u want that is somewhat performance oriented.

Default I wondered...

I just heard from somewhere that if you install supra shocks + lower springs like eibach on sc's make inside of tire wearing. Is that true? I guess rear suspentions are pretty much compatible among supra NA, TT, SC400, and sc300 but I am not so sure about dif of the front set ups. especially dif btw supra set and sc set. I really like to know about that...

thats called camber. yes it does if you have a set of springs that lower the car too much. springs/shocks for the sc that drop the car too much will do the same also. you can fix it by buying a camber kit to correct the suspension.

Smile Thank you

It seems like I need to have a camber kit for the front because of the dropping the height more than 1' which is more than factory required. TM engineering sells those kit...
By the way, how do you check whats the year or parts number for Tokico 48530-14400 front shocks and KYB 48530-14400 shocks ? faster to call up Toyota dealer to get help or...

ok... im learning a little now. So stay way from stock struts because of the roads. Now with this camber issue, if i stay above 1" i wont have to deal with negative camber right? How much is a camber kit go for anyway?
But is 1" even that noticable of a drop? I was thinking 1.5" or so with a supra suspension so 1.5 +.5? or am i trying to go too low (this is my daily driver btw)

Ok so stay away from these sets of shocks

Why stay away from tokiico blues. I'm running that setup and espelir's and I've had no problems.
