Arrow Lexbox Mods II

Hello everyone, my name is Mark. I hail from the ES forums but I have stepped the game up and bought the 2000 GS300 Platinum Edition. I have been a member for almost five years. I am a network administrator for the Alabama School of Math and Science, which is a private residential high school with about 250 very bright kids. I also attend the University of South Alabama in their Computer Engineering program. As far as the rest of my credentials, I put in stereo for about a year and my computer takes radiator fluid. I have been lurking around the GS forums for about six weeks soaking everything up with the help of the search function. In an effort to centralize mods, I posted everything about my ES in one thread which proved quite successful. I plan on doing the same here and I am glad the wait is finally over. I have cherry picked a few pics from the old thread to put here and then it is off to my new setup. But first, the pic I have been waiting on, the new tag!

This entire thread will be constantly updated and tweaked.

Default Old System Layout

This is my old layout. I will not mix and match parts in the new car. I will go with JL Audio mids and highs but I might deviate and go with a Resonant Engineering sub. I will also stick with the black and white theme with JL amps. To keep the woofer in the stock location but eliminate the need for a free-air setup, I have some serious plans to modify the rear deck. Right now, I only have the Alpine in-dash unit with no stock subwoofer.

I have been waiting on the tag to drop this thread. I have aquired a few parts in the meanwhile. Pictured: Rotora F / R rotors, Axxis Deluxe pads, G2 White caliper kit, OBX header and downpipe.

Default SRT Intake with new Blue filter

I bought this directly from SRT for $399. It just so happens to come with the new filter. I called them earlier today because they shorted me a transition coupler and asked about the filter. We should see pics of the blue ones start to trickle down but I guess Im the first one.

My friend could only describe the sound as exotic. It sounds a bit different than the AEM CAI I had on my old ES but I cant say one is better than the other because its a different class of sound. The ECU wiring was a piece of cake compared to the forty or so Xboxes I have modified. Worked right the first time with no CEL etc. The piggyback did fit inside the cover with some shifting of the harnesses closest to the fender.

Default Alpine in-dash

Piece of cake to install, although I put in car stereo for almost a year. I used the PDF file that looks professional enough to come from Lexus. The TV itself has a breakout processor that I put in place of the stock CD-Changer. The TV needed a constant and ground behind the dash that I pulled from the stock radio harness. For the processor, I used the constant and ground that was going to the amp but, I had to get the switched hot from behind the radio. I also installed the PAC TR-7 bypass box so I can watch video when I am driving. Piece of cake.
