Default New Tein Flex Suspension Installed & Lights - Pix

I installed my new suspension today with the help of a friend. Took a good 4 hours

First two pictures are more to show the HID retrofit on my car and the new bulbs installed...this was before the car was dropped. Also, the retrofit on my friends car was just finished yesterday...most of it was done by me, he just watched .

Second two pix are of my car after I lowered it today. I only did a 1.5 inch drop. Still want the car to be drivable, not slammed.

This thing handles like a beast now...lol
Take corners going 40mph without using the brakes and the tires don't even squeal
The ride quality is still very good. It's not quire as bumpy as I originally thought it would be.

Seems like a few of you guys want close up pix of the lights...ask and you shall recieve.

Pic of the lights on, but close up.

Zoomed in of the picture above.

The new lighting is awesome, and the drop, while slight, looks much, much better than the stock height. Nice work

Jeff, that is a great job on the install . Drop looks great and the better handling is a major improvement I am sure. Congrats on the new mod and I bet you are now looking for some new shoes .

looks alright...drop it at least a .25" of an inch more and it'll look much better!

First of all thanks for the comments. However, I think one of these coilovers may be busted. It is quite noisy over bumps while the other ones don't make any sound at all. Kind of like a banging popping noise. It sounds like the strut mount/pillowball mount has gone bad. Although the sound is there, the handling is not affected in any way. I might have to send it into Tein to get it checked. BTW: I bought this set used from someone else, so the previous owners might of driven it a bit too hard Good thing Tein charges about $100 per rebuild, so its not too bad.

Well of course it is stiffer over bumps and such (only 20-30% more though), but the ride stability has a huuuge improvement over stock. Where the stock one would be floaty at times, this one is pretty much flat. I'm not sure about some of you other guys with the older suspensions, but my stock suspension was pretty rough over big bumps. Mabye Lexus beefed up the suspension for the last year or two for the 2nd gen?

Oh, also I managed to beat my friends BMW 330i sport on the skidpad. According to the Escort G-Timer GT-1 I pulled 0.94G's with just this suspension, still using stock sways and of course stock tires/rims.
