Are all OEM struts made by KYB?
Hey guys, I just bought a pair of front struts from a Lexus dealer and when I opened the box I was surprised to see 'KYB' written on the struts.
Are all OEM struts made by KYB? Is KYB quality the same as OEM?
thanks

Interesting. I heard that the KYB GR2 are actually the L-tuned shocks. I just bought a set of OEM shocks from lexus-parts.com. They're sitting in the garage, but I'll check when I get home to see whether they are marked KYB. Can you give me an idea of where I should be looking?

I tried to get some answers on this before but have not been successful finding out real facts.
Are the KYB-GR2 shocks designed different than stock shocks so they would work good with L-tuned springs? If they are the same as stock shocks then they would not work good for lowering springs right? But if you just want to buy OEM replacement shocks to work with stock springs should you putting these KYBs on. Or do the KYBs work good with stock or L-tuned springs? Did I confuse people?

If KYB's are OEM, I just saved a boat load by buying them on-line (65 ea) at performancepeddler.com . Use "lexus" as coupon code. I also saved a bunch on car insurance
The ride is excellent. I wouldn't buy OEM if all they are doing is repacking up.

I just checked one of the front shocks. It does say KYB directly on the shock (actually, it says Toyota, then some Japanese characters, and then KYB). There also appears to be a model number just beneath the Toyota marking (but it is not GR-2).
