I dont think the brake dust issue is going away anytime soon. I have close to 6K miles on mine and its as evident as the first day I bought it.

if you guys think this is bad, try driving a bmw 330ci, it's noticealby worse..
All we can do is, when the time comes that we need new pads, swtich them
to a type which produces less dust, at the cost of a little bit braking performance,,(so they say)

well i don't remember the brake dust being that bad on the 1IS so i couldn't compare with you guys as that i don't have stock brakes. but i do know that when it comes down to me having dusty wheels and good braking power or not really dusty wheels and sacrificing my braking power; i will take dusty wheels ANY day.

plus having black wheels like mine helps.

I have a friend with a 330i...his dusted no worse than the IS. Pretty much 2 days of VERY light driving will get these things coated.

Someone suggested to wax the wheels so the dust would come off easily. I'll try that when it gets warmer and I'll give you guys an update. I drive for 2 days and the wheels are gray.
