Why is my brake light on after swapping pads?
Just installed 4 stoptech rotors and new pads. Do I need to reset the ECU on the car in order to get the BRAKE light to go off?

Seriously man, the car is a 6spd so everytime I drive it the e brake hasto be engauged and disengauged. Dont you think I know to put the e brake down and see if the BRAKE light goes off. The fluid level it maxed out

Reset ECU? It shoudln't have anything to do with it but hey never know.

It also comes on if you have low fluid. There is a sensor in the fluid reservoir and the idea is that when the pads wear down, the caliper piston has to extrude further, thus draining fluid from the reservoir into the caliper. Then when the "brake" light comes on that means you need to replace your pads. Too bad most people are too stupid to realize how it works and they just top off their fluid from time to time and then when you replace the pads you push the caliper pistons back in and fluid comes overflowing from the reservoir.

Just had the same issue. Solution is easy/stupid.
Unplug sensor from side of resevoir (located lower drivers side).
Turn car on.
Plug sensor back in.
Viola - light is reset.
Figuring this out was dumb luck for me.
