Default TOMS Chassis Braces - what difference will it make?

I am pretty close to ordering the TOMS chassis braces - one for the front, one for the rear and the 6-arm links.

Can anyone comment on the difference this will make to the car?

I already run TRD sway bars, Tein Flex and a 2-way Cusco LSD so the car is pretty narly.

Hey I have a question for you.
Anyways, I have the Tein Flex right now. Everything else is stock including the 16" rims I think the handling is very good now, but still not quite as good as I want it.

How is your handling? I see that you have the TRD Sways and LSD already. So when you say the handling is narly, thats a good thing right?

The TRD sways I would really recommend. They made a big difference.

2-way LSD is only if you're into hardcore racing - it gives fantastic traction out of the corner and on-power, but of course because both wheels lock together, if one wheels loses traction, both do so it's a bit more dangerous in wet/slidey conditions.

I had the Tein CS/EDFC and Daizen swaybars prior to installing the Toms front and rear LCB's and 6 links. The braces definitely made a difference - the front will tighten-up and steer much more precise with the Toms front LCB and the rear will also tighten-up with the rear LCB and 6 links. IMO the Toms braces and 6 links are well worth the price - great stuff!

I have the Tom's rear chassis brace, rear strut brace, and 6 piece kit. Each noticeably reduced flexing in the rear. Go over a speed bump slowly at an angle before installing them and you'll feel the 'butt jiggle'. Go over after and it just doesn't move.

OK, guys you've made my mind up - I'm buying 'em!

One last thing - how difficult was the 6-arm link install? Lot of labour?

the 6 link isn't too bad i think, i believe of them is replacement and then 2 added links (please correct me) a slong as it doesn't rattle with your exhaust. keep that in mind, it hits a lot of different exhausts

Thanks for the tip man.

I'm running a Quest downpipe, but my tailpipes are stock. (Before you ask, I'm not into aftermarket loud exhaust system) So I guess no problem?

Did read on the TOMS website something about the braces interfering with certain exhaust.

nonono, i am talking about the 6 links. as long as you have anything muffler back, then you could be affected. it's the shape and size of the pipe right before the muffler that matters. for example toms (obviously) and borla, they are no problem. but my apexi, it will rattle will one of the links. same with a lot of other exahusts

for the brace, if you get the closed type, then it will rub with MOST exhaust, even stock, i believe. that's why they ahvea the open type, which is for most other ars. my apexi barely clears the toms close type brace

Well, I have a SARD cat (same size as stock), a Quest downpipe and a Toyota stock twin exhausts/tailpipes.

Will the 6-arm links affect me?

Please let me know before I order 'em! I've got a 2-way LSD so the rear traction is nutz anyway, a little less stiff at the back may not affect the handling much.

seriously i really don't know, all i can say is the 6 links get so damn close to the exhaust. my mechanic told me he has seen different exhaust hitting different links. it's just hard to work with

and that's why i only have brace on my car, not the 6 links

OK, I think I'll miss the 6-arm links.

While we're here, I've got Tein Flex + EDFC.

Still no strut-bar to fit this....any ideas? I've emailed the various people who supposedly make this item in the US but no response.

Could I modify a Cusco Strut bar?

Default what about Carson's strut bar?

I ordered this strut bar. It's supposed to clear most EDFC's. You should pm SUPRATRD for details.
