ever since I noticed this issue I've been paying attention whenever i drive cars other than my own, I've yet to find a single vehicle that does it other than mine, though I have met ppl who say they've had it in other cars.

Talking Again This Sounds Like

Fellow 2IS Owners with Brake Clunk...
This isuse should be looked into. I own a IS and it doesn't make a sound
from the brakes. I will say one thing "after I wash my car and pull it into the garage to dry it makes a squeak sound and thats it.. (Wet Brakes and very slow movement).
NTHSA, they might get Lexus (Toyota) to isuse a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB), but nothing will be done if you leave it to the dealers.
Stand up for the IS, put the government to work.

I thought the Government only dealt with safety issues?

Default Technical Service Bulletins (TSB)

Correct, they do deal with saftey isuses (Recalls). However if more people would use the NHTSA web site or Better Busniness Bureau for these kind of "dealer thats normal" like this brake problem, NTHSA might have to act because of mulitiple complains. Yes it would take more than a few. For instants, in 2000 the Toyota Tundra had problems with the brakes. Toyota who didn't want to acknowlage the problem was compleled to act. No there wasn't a recall but they isused a few TSB's. Most TSB's are generated by car companies but there are the few that the government ask the company to do. Nothing is perfect but you gotta start somewhere. NTHSA is a good place, BBB for your area another. What usually happens when you complian at a dealer not much because the next person has to go thru the same thing.
Brakes should not clunk. And the dealer saying that's normal, $40,000.00 plus dollars should not clunk. Mine doesn't and I'm sure the majority of 2IS's don't either
I'll step down.
Thanks for Reading

My 350 doesn't do this, that I've noticed. My 2000 Solara did it, though. But, I think that was only for the last couple of years, and I never had to have a brake job on it. I think I had about 50k miles on it after 6 years.
