Default Help!!! Caliper Bracket Bolts?

I'm in the middle of putting on new rotors and pads. The two 17mm bolts that hold the front calipers on they come off normal right. Left to loosen?? These suckers won't budge. I even hit them with my impact gun for a sec and nothing. I know their suppose to be torqued down to 87 ft. lbs but damn what do I do? Also I've read that the threaded holes to pop the rotors off are an 8mm bolt. Wrong thats too big, anyone anyone?

counterclockwise to remove the bolt.
I am not sure the tsize of the hreaded hole on the rotor are 8mm. Maybe it is a M10.
Or you can spray penetrating oil through the hole and hit the rotor with a soft headed mallet to free the rotor from the hub.

Also some additional info.....make sure your emergency brake is NOT engaged. I learned the hard way after trying to get the rear rotors off for a 1/2 hour while the brake was engaged. Woops...

You should not need to remove the large 17mm mounting bolts to replace the pads.. Just the bottom 14mm and pivit the caliper up and away from the pads. The rotor should clear.

OK so counter clockwise on the bolt direction. I can't believe my electric impact gun won't break it loose. I just went out there and gave it hell but nothing. I have a gorilla bar but it won't fit in between the body and the rotor because of the shape of it. Should I go buy a pipe to stick over a 17mm wrench for leverage?

I just got back from Autozone with a 24" breaker bar for $20. Broke'em loose first try. OK back to work.

Try using a wrench and give it a few taps with a hammer. I believe the caliper has to totally come off if you are taking off the rotors Tammy......if I recall
