I am considering to install springs into my IS300. My choices are Tanabe or Eibach Pro Kit. Both cost the same and both lower the car by an inch. Any recommendation??? Also, is it necessary to change the shocks and sway bars with my new springs???
thanks

Be careful with the Tanabe springs. I don't know how many different models they have, but the Super Downs claim a drop of 2" and actually result in a slammed 3" drop.
I have the Pro Kits w/TRD adj. shocks and the TRD race sway bars. Excellent ride quality. Maintains a near OEM ride w/a lower ride height. The sways allow the car to corner very hard and the adjustability of the shocks really control how firm the ride is.
The actual drop rate on the Eibachs, at least on my car, are 1.1" front and back. Low enough, but not so low that I run into clearance problems.
It's not necessary to change the shocks and/or sway bars when doing springs, but the longevity of the shocks may be affected due to the lower ride height and the increase in spring rate of the aftermarket springsmay not match the damping rate of the OEM shocks.

Are you satisfied with the eibach or not? I am curious b/c i would like to do something like that too--improve the appearance and handling, even wind noise with less car height, right? Also, how are the sway bars, i like the hotchkiss ones, b/c they are cheaper and i read they were good. Also thinking about getting a front STB. For the springs, how is installation (time, price)? What was the best suspension mod you got? thanks.
